Agbara robbery: Injured policeman moved to UCH

A c o r p o r a l , Godwin Ebhadoghe, who was shot by armed robbers during attack on banks in Agbara area of Ogun State, about two weeks ago, has been transferred to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for proper treatment.

The Ogun State Police Command yesterday debunked report that Ebhadoghe had been abandoned by the police.
The command described the report as false and unfounded. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that the allegation was not true. Adejobi added that those who fabricated the story were mischievous and did so for reasons best known to them.
The PPRO therefore appealed to the public to disregard the news as the police would not in any way toy with the welfare of any of their personnel. He said: “To put the record straight, the injured policeman, since the day of the incident, has been enjoying sup-port in all ramifications, including finances from the Police Divisional Headquarters, Agbara, the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the branch of the bank he was attached to before the incident, the corporate headquarters of the same bank in Lagos and the government of Ogun State.
